About Me

Growing up, I hated running. I dreaded "the mile." I swam and played water polo until the end of high school, when I was sidelined by injury. After college, I needed something to do, and a roommate asked to run a 5k with her. And so my story begins.

Since then, I've grown obsessed with running, and enjoy the combination of misery and triumph that the marathon offers best of all. I have completed seven marathons on two continents, and have my sights set on many more.

When I'm not running, I enjoy my other favorite past-times of cooking (and eating) good food, drinking good local beer, and working to make our communities more equitable and sustainable. More information on that part of my life can be found here.
